Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will report to the Managing Director. Primary responsibilities with managing the Pre-Sales Engineering and Field engineering teams. The secondary focus is overseeing the relationship with the Element 1 Engineering Support team, supporting product development, and being the primary liaison with the manufacturer.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall product manager and deep technical expert on e1 Marine products. Collaborate with the Business Development team as the technical expert in customer presentations.  

  • Build and manage the engineering team located in the USA and Europe. Assign tasks and priorities.   

  • Determine the technical requirements to meet client goals and act as a liaison between e1 Marine's business development team, system integrators, and manufacturers.  

  • Respond to customer RFI's –Draft proposals outlining the customer's primary pain points and the e1 Marine solution. Position the e1 marine solution as the ideal technical solution.  

  • Manage Hydrogen One vessel development to completion and coordinate efforts with technical partners.  

  • Manage relationships and direct manufacturer requirements. 

  • Develop customer product requirements and make recommendations to the management team.

  • Manage product development process with Element 1

  • Support certification process with Lloyds Register, ABS, DMV, and various coast guards. 

  • Domestic and international travel from 15% to 25%.  

Qualifications

  • A track record showing successful completion of measurable tasks, responsibilities, and goals related to position duties and responsibilities (listed above) individually and with a team.   

  • Knowledge and experience working with manufacturing standards (ISO) and safety certifications. (Example: UL, CE, CSA, ABS, Lloyd's Register)

  • Familiar with the design change process and its implementation in production processes.  

  • Familiar with the continual improvement process

  • Knowledge, and experience with MS Office software skills, particularly creating, editing, and formatting in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Engineering, Manufacturing, Marine Systems) or equivalent experience. Background with a technology-related company is a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% with a valid passport. Familiarity with international business is a plus.

  • Salary: TBD depending on relevant experience.
